Shanghai CNPC 93 Gasoline Rises Quietly

2009/2/21 0:00:00 45

PetroChina's gasoline sales promotion in Shanghai has changed quietly: the number 93 gasoline rose from 4.76 yuan to 4.66 yuan per litre at 20 o'clock in February 18th, and the price of 90 gasoline has not changed.

According to China news service, Shanghai's PetroChina is not expected to rise, but it is also reasonable.

According to the preferential schedule formulated by PetroChina in Shanghai, the offer ended in January 31st, but since February 1st, CNPC has not increased the price of petrol stations in Shanghai.

Therefore, the sudden increase in prices in February 18th is far beyond expectations.

But since the beginning of February, Sinopec has increased the retail price of gasoline 93 in 90 promotional stations in Shanghai.

Now, the retail price of No. 93 gasoline from more than 600 Sinopec gas stations in Shanghai has recovered from 4.71 yuan per liter to the benchmark price of 4.95 yuan per liter.

This also makes the price rise of PetroChina reasonable.

Judging from the situation around Shanghai, such as Hangzhou and other places, Sinopec and CNPC gas stations started the oil price war on New Year's day.

Therefore, the rise in the price of PetroChina in Shanghai can be seen as a manifestation of the oil giant's desire to reshape the seller's market.

It is worth noting that, whether PetroChina's petrol filling station in Shanghai or Sinopec's sales promotion station in Shanghai, the retail price of No. 90 gasoline has not recovered to the base price at the same time, and is still being sold at the same promotional price.

No. 90 gasoline is the main oil used by taxis. Obviously, the two big oil giants are trying to keep the taxi drivers more sensitive to oil prices.
