Raymond, a India textile producer, plans to produce traditional Arabia robe fabrics to enhance its market share in the Gulf area in the next 2-3 years.

Gautam Singhania, managing director of Raymond group, said the company is consolidating its position in the Gulf Arabia national Cooperation Council (GCC), which will produce traditional Arabia fabrics.

"We have discussed this possibility with our partners in the region. Our factory has the capability to produce this kind of fabric, which will meet the needs of men's traditional clothing in the region," he said at a visit to GCC.

Singhania said the company's business in the Gulf region will continue to grow at a rate of 15%, and the Middle East is an important part of the company's international business.

The region accounts for 37% of the company's international business.

The global recession has hit the company's export business, but the company is optimistic about the development of the GCC market, which will make up for the decline in western demand.

Ram Bhatnagar, vice president of international sales at Raymond, said that the group has 24 sales outlets in the Middle East, and the company plans to increase sales to 50 in the next 2-3 years.

We plan to increase the number of smaller sales outlets to 200 by 2012.
