Indian Made Silk POY Anti-Dumping Duty

India

The artificial silk industry is mainly concentrated in the western Silvassa and the Soviet Area, and the domestic pre oriented POY manufacturing enterprises are raising their prices, sometimes even one price per day.

The main reason is that the government imposed POY on imports in 2002.

Anti-dumping duty

And domestic POY manufacturers take advantage of this opportunity to raise prices.

The AITA has written to the Minister of finance Mu Keji (Pranab Mukerjee), calling for the cancellation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of POY, because after 8 years of Taxation, the situation has changed a lot.

They allege that the abolition of anti-dumping duties will prevent POY manufacturing companies from continuing to raise prices arbitrarily without justification.

Agarwal, President of AITA Association (Satyanarayan Agarwal), said in an interview with fibre2fashion: "we purchase POY from Reliance, Indorama and other POY production enterprises.

Because India has imposed anti-dumping duties on imported POY, we are faced with great difficulties in importing raw materials.

However, today's situation has changed dramatically since the beginning of anti-dumping duties in 2002.

There is an urgent need to abolish the anti-dumping duty, because the anti-dumping duty protects India POY producers and allows them to manipulate market prices.

"POY is used to produce polyester fabrics. For a long time, polyester fabrics have replaced cotton and become the fabric of ordinary people.

Cotton used to be the fabric of ordinary people, but now it has become a luxury.

Polyester fills the space and provides inexpensive clothing for the market.

The government reduced tariffs and excise taxes to 10% years ago.

"However, due to intensified competition and dumping of foreign POY, India has imposed anti-dumping duties on imported POY.

Generally speaking, the duration of anti-dumping duty lasts about 2 years.

However, India has imposed anti-dumping duties since 2002 and is still taxing until now.

The price of POY in India is much higher than that in the international market.

"The reduction in supply by POY producers in India has led to a reduction in the production of the bomb companies, resulting in a sharp rise in yarn prices.

Therefore, we urge the government to consider abolishing the anti-dumping duty on imported POY and protecting domestic industries.

As POY prices continue to rise, ordinary people are beginning to get hurt.
